Cen-Tex members are all highly trained volunteer SAR professionals.
Members are required to obtain and maintain training and credentials in the
following areas:
*GPS navigation
*Search skills
*Radio Communications
*Field notes and radio logs

All candidates must undergo a background check prior to eligibility for
membership.
Members are required to obtain and maintain training and credentials in the
following areas:
- First Aid
- CPR
- Search & Rescue Technician through the National Association for Search
and Rescue (NASAR). Level III minimal. Level II to deploy a canine. - NIMS ICS courses per NIMS requirements
- Crime scene preservation awareness
- Haz-mat awareness
- Blood born pathogen awareness
- Ground Team Search Skills
